Caskets & Urns

It is important to consider the final resting place of your loved one.

We have shown a small selection and your Funeral Director will be able to offer further advice.

At the time of arranging the funeral your Funeral Director will hand to you the necessary paperwork to enable you to collect the Cremated Remains of your loved one at a later date if you have arranged to have them released to us in the meantime. This paperwork should be kept in a safe place as without it we are unable to release the Cremated Remains to you. If this matter causes you any concern please talk to your Funeral Director.

The Eagle and Rose urns  The Lawnswood urn

Sea urnIf you would like to have your loved one’s cremated remains scattered at sea we are able to put you in touch with a local charity which will arrange this for you in return for a donation. Small groups are hosted on board the MV Encourager, or cremated remains can be scattered on your behalf, on a trip which lasts approximately 2 hours. They may either be scattered directly onto the water or allowed to slip gracefully away in a Sea Urn. At the end of the trip you will be presented with a card giving the co-ordinates of the exact position where the scattering took place. These urns are manufactured with the environment in mind. The tree bark used to make the paper is from the mulberry tree and is harvested in such a way that the tree continues to grow, undamaged. Once on the sea floor the urn will break down naturally over time. You do not need to have any nautical connections to ask about this service.
