We would like to express our deepest thanks to Emma for everything she did for our family following the loss of my brother.

Arranging a funeral is something none of us ever expect to have to face, and having Emma there to take care of everything made such a difficult time feel that little bit more manageable. From the arrangements right through to the day itself, she was incredibly caring, approachable and professional.

Emma took the time to listen to what we wanted and made sure that every detail was handled with such care. She understood how important it was for us to give my brother a meaningful and dignified farewell, and she went above and beyond to make sure the day was exactly as we hoped it would be.

The way Emma conducted the funeral was truly beautiful. She carried herself with such warmth and respect, while also giving us the reassurance that everything was in safe hands. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our family and about making the day special for my brother.

At a time filled with sadness and emotion, Emma’s kindness made a real difference to us. We will always remember the compassion she showed and the care she put into giving my brother the farewell he deserved.

We chose Torbay & district because it had amazing reviews, and it was the right decision, from start to finish they were absolutely outstanding, the care and compassion was excellent all the staff were lovely, Emma who we dealt with the most was incredible she truly felt like a friend she is so understanding and compassionate and they took care of everything and kept me in the loop every step of the way, my beloved dad was certainly in the best hands, I can’t recommend this place enough 10/10 from me.

Emma was extremely helpful - we can't fault anything as it was so well organised for us. Live streaming at Drakes would have been nice but we managed with our own phone.

My dad died suddenly 6 weeks ago now, it has been that most hardest time I’ve ever had to face in my life! I had no idea where to start with any of it. I was also apprehensive of who to entrust with all the arrangements that had to be made. I met with a lovely, amazing lady called Emma Bastow and immediately felt instantly welcomed with such warmth and grace! She made me feel seen and heard and guided me through every step of the way with such compassion and kindness. Emma went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and my dad was laid to rest with the dignity he deserved. I met with other colleagues along the way who also instantly made me feel like family. I can’t recommend them enough, your loved one will surely be in safe hands! Thank you so much for everything you have done for me and my family.

Thank you for the very respectful, efficient and warm service that you gave to us - my mum and 1,regarding both the funeral of her husband and my dad; and how you looked after his body. Viewing him as we did in your chapel of rest allowed us to have a peaceful image of him at the end, was very important and managed by yourselves very well.

At every stage we felt held, while making decisions about what we wanted to happen; you were patient with us when we needed more time. The service we had to say good bye to my dad was beautiful.

The event ran very smoothly so all we needed to concentrate on was Dad. At such a time it is really important to have a caring skilled funeral service like yours so that what is a traumatic time isn't made more painful because of arrangements going awry. I have gained a great deal of respect for your profession and your particular service.

We have dealt directly with the Torbay and District Funeral service on two occasions. They were just so caring and easy to deal with. The first was just over 2 years ago and in the last few months, our second. The main point with any funeral service is that at a time when all the family want to do is mourn, that unfortunately someone need to organise the funeral and having a company that you know you can trust with your loved one is just so very important and takes some weight off your shoulders. The costings were also very clear and easy to follow through with nothing hidden or last minute extras that you hear off with some services. Emma was also very easy to deal with and communications prompt and clear, which is equally so important. All the staff were very professional and offered IOHO a very good service at a very reasonable costing. I hope that it is many year before we need to use their services again, but when that time comes, we will again be in trusting in The Torbay and District Funeral Service.
