Torbay & District Funeral Services are continuing their long-standing relationship with Patrick the celebrity pony as one of the local businesses who have sponsored his new pen at Rowcroft Hospice.
Patrick, the therapy pony has a new mobile pen for visits to Rowcroft Hospice patients who have life-limiting illnesses.
It will give Patrick a moveable base at the hospice to enable people to interact and spend time with him outside in the fresh air and enable Patrick to visit the inpatient unit during his sessions on the grounds.
Pony therapy is said to reduce blood pressure and to help release endorphins that provide calming effects; this can help alleviate pain, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve wellbeing.
