Annual fund-racing for Rotary Club

Torbay and District’s fundraising fanatics, Sarah Lockton, Sandra Murphy and Mark Carr have been raising more money for local Babbacombe & St Marychurch Rotary Club.
On 16 July, the team returned to the annual Babbacombe and St Marychurch Rotary Pedal Kart Race to support the eight teams who took part in the two-hour race against each other to complete as many laps of the course as possible.
The trio also ran a stall on the day where an impressive hamper filled with wine, prosecco, beer, chocolates and a huge teddy was up for grabs in a competition to guess how many balloons were in the hearse.
Many people entered but it was 101-year-old Mrs Wreford from St Marychurch who won the prize.
Funeral Director, Sarah Lockton said: “Every year this entire day is a huge success and this year the stalls, food stalls, fair rides and bouncy castles raised thousands of pounds for the Rotary Club.
“The Torbay and District team enjoy this fundraising event and our reputation didn’t falter this year. We managed to raise a brilliant £97 for the club and will be sure to attend again next year.”
