Torbay & District Funeral Service donated a smart new coat to a well-known pony which has become a mascot for a charity supporting animals in war.
Patrick is a mascot for the Purple Poppy Appeal, which remembers animals that fall victim to war. Patrick’s owner and K&H Cockington Carriages founder Kirk Petrakis bought Patrick to train him as a therapy pony and the miniature Shetland won hearts across the UK as families visited the stables and pictures circulated of him online.
As ambassadors for the War Horse Memorial, which runs the Purple Poppy Appeal, Torbay & District Funeral Service joined forces to feature Patrick in a music video wearing the blue and pink coat to launch the charity’s 2020 appeal.
After releasing his own children’s book, Patrick is now training to visit hospitals and care homes to bring comfort to the bereaved during these difficult times.
