Turning empty sweet tubs into money for charity

Devon-wide recycling firm DCW Polymers is stepping up a post-Christmas campaign by collecting, regrinding, and then selling the granules from plastic confectionery tubs.

In 2019 more than 100 businesses and individuals across the region collected more than 15,000 tubs, resulting in £1,200 being raised for charity.

With the help of 78 businesses within Devon and Cornwall this year’s collection takes in an expanded range of tubs and will raise money for Dartmoor Zoo, Mind and Macmillan.

Collections will begin at the end of January, and local collection points are Torbay & District Funeral Service in Torquay; Herring Shoes in Kingsbridge; Michael Howard High Quality Family Butchers in Moretonhampstead; The Cridford Inn at Trusham; Chudfridge in Chudleigh; Co-op Food in Bovey Tracey; The Sugar Mill in Chudleigh and The Auto Centre in Teignmouth.

If you would like to donate to the appeal, we encourage you to do so as part of your daily exercise or essential shop. Lets all stay safe.
